Coming to terms with the end of term

13 more days until I land back in America..... (What?!?!) Due to the timing of our fellowship, the first 5 weeks of our service were spent with our own individual classes while our final, sixth week of service is during school holidays. St. Lucy's has a holiday program that some of the students come for. This program is 5 days long and students can come for all five days or just one. Becky and I will be volunteering at this program and will see many children we know from out classes and the other classes but there will also be many familiar faces missing. We are lucky to have been able to meet many children outside our individual classes during the morning and afternoon songs, and both of the recesses that take place each day. With the end of the term coming up on Friday, there have been some goodbyes happening. Today Becky and I bid farewell to one of the volunteers that we have seen quite a bit. Miss. Running Through Boston Airport, Accidental Naps, and Basketball Shoe Shopping

           Long time no see! As you may have guessed, this is my first post from the comforts of my lovely homestay here in Australia! So as I am writing this on Sunday morning; I have been in Sydney for a little over 48 hours and have enjoyed it from the start. Let's backtrack to the traveling that got me to the other side of the world. Becky and I met up in Newark, NJ to board our first flight to Boston. My carry on got checked at the gate so my only experience of Logan Airport was of me sprinting from gate 22 to baggage claim, back through security (sweating bullets as I had less than half an hour to do all of this) and then back to gate 22. Thank goodness Becky was at the gate to make sure they didn't leave without me, thanks, girl! The flights as a whole went smoothly, I was able to sleep a good amount so I wasn't entirely dead by the time we arrived in Sydney.
